juicy salif lemon squeezer
philippe starck 1990
This is a lemon juicer? If you’ve ever seen War of the Worlds, you might half-expect little green men to crawl out from this contraption. Indeed, Philippe Starck’s futuristic design for his Juicy Salif created considerable controversy when it was released in 1990, but has now gone on to one of the iconic objects of late twentieth-century design and has been enshrined in the Museum of Modern Art. Eminently functional, the Juicy Salif can deliver a fresh glass of lemon juice with little effort and immense pleasure. Available here in its original mirror-polished aluminum, the Juicy Salif has commanded such design importance, it has even been cast in a 24-carat gold finish!
